Mission Statement

Our mission statement: The Wildcat Chronicle is the student-created and student-run online  newspaper of West Chicago Community High School, West Chicago, Ill. It is a public forum for freedom of expression and encourages readers to express their views. The Chronicle publishes continually online, with the student editorial board making the decisions concerning the paper’s content. The staff strives to report fairly and truthfully stories of interest to the high school community. Unsigned editorials represent the views of the majority of the staff.

Letters to the editor are welcomed and will be published as long as the letters are signed, and the writer is confirmed by the editorial page editor. The paper reserves the right to edit letters for grammar and clarity, and may refuse to publish a letter. Letters that contain obscene, suggestive, vulgar, profane, threatening or defamatory language will not be published. Attacks made toward race, gender, sexual orientation, or creed will not be tolerated. Letters to the editor may be emailed to [email protected].

Advertisements do not represent endorsements of the Wildcat Chronicle or West Chicago Community High School. The Wildcat Chronicle accepts advertising, but reserves the right not to print unacceptable advertisements.
