Emily Ziajor, Multimedia Manager

Emily Ziajor is a WEGO senior in her second year of journalism. She attended the National High School Journalism Convention last November, and thoroughly loved the experience. She is a Polish-American (she finished her final year of Polish School in the spring of 2023) with a creative soul and high aspirations. When it comes to writing, she has a sharp imagination, and one of her true passions is photography. Emily is a multi-year member of the AV Club at West Chicago Community High School.

At the end of the day, mentors and attendees learn to follow a group dance alongside friends, including juniors Miranda Bucio (left) and Adamary Vega (right).

Students gather within the small gym for "Cross the Line", an activity to help demonstrate that students are not alone with their struggles.

Attendees crowd into the auditorium to hear from guest speaker, and AVID teacher, Richard Kost, who is retiring later this year.

Mentors like senior Kevin Dorl and junior Andrea Garcia are given lunch options of pizza, vegetables, salad, cookies, and plenty of snacks.

Groups play a variety of games including drawing telephone. Each group had a special accessory to match, such as party hats.

Ignoring Instagram comments can be difficult, but ROAR participants are happy to rip up those negativities.
