Every year, West Chicago Community High School National Honor Society (NHS) juniors and Interact Club members are invited to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). RYLA is a three-day camp in which students are able to develop their leadership skills and connect with other students in the northern Illinois area.

This year, camp was held in East Troy, Wisconsin at Camp Edwards. Students had the ability to attend one of three sessions held in December 2022, March 2023, or April 2023.

Thanks to a cooperative arrangement with Interact, in April, four NHS members attended RYLA. They were picked up at Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale, Illinois, and then driven by bus up to Camp Edwards for the weekend. The cost of the camp was picked up by Rotary District 6440, allowing WEGO students to attend for free.
