[VOX POP] What’s your favorite Mexican dish?
Kevin Armas is a senior in high school who is excited about graduating—not because he is eager to start college, but because he finds high school both boring and stressful. His favorite activities include going to the gym with friends, eating and cooking, and making his friends laugh.
Kevin is pursuing a career in engineering not because he is good at math, but because he is doing it for the money and hates writing. When it comes to reading, Kevin struggles with traditional books since he finds it difficult to imagine the characters, so instead he reads manga and enjoys watching anime, with his favorite being Jujutsu Kaisen.
If you ask his friends to describe him as a type of dog, they would definitely compare his personality to a chihuahua. A fun fact about Kevin is that he is left-handed because his right hand is missing the muscle that allows his thumb to function properly. He works hard not to give himself a better life, but to repay his mother for everything she has done for him.
This year marks senior Carlos Morales’ first year in journalism and his final semester of high school (he just wants to get out of here). He enjoys playing soccer, a sport he has played since elementary school. In addition to playing soccer, he also enjoys watching sports such as football, basketball, and baseball.
Carlos’ favorite place to get food is Chick-fil-A, as there is no better place to get a chicken sandwich. In the spring, he is going on a weeklong trip to France (and promises to bring back a croissant).
