For the West Chicago Wildcats, Senior Night was not just about celebration—it was about defending their home court, honoring their years of hard work, and closing out the night with a statement win. With emotions running high and a packed gym rallying behind them, the Wildcats delivered, ensuring that Elmwood Park would not spoil their moment.

The Senior Night ceremony began with the Newcombe family taking the court in honor of Devin Newcombe, our beloved student. His absence was deeply felt, and the tribute served as a powerful reminder of his impact on the Wildcat community.

The senior players were honored prior to tipoff, with their loved ones beside them. They received flowers from Coach Roy Ramos and a standing ovation from the crowd, recognizing their years of dedication.

Senior Ansh Parikh is seen here receiving his flowers. Parikh has been an integral part of the basketball program here at West Chicago ever since his freshman year. His dependability and consistency have made him a key part of the recent success of the program.
“Ansh is the guy you can always count on,” teammate Peter Bovey said. “Even if he’s not on the court, his leadership is huge for us.”
Parikh is – and has been – one of the most dependable students here at WEGO as well, and is looking forward to studying at the University of Illinois.
“Mr. Reliable,” as Coach Ramos calls him, Joe Trigueros, put on a dominant defensive performance. The senior and captain had the most blocks in the game, and his presence alone was able to make a strong impact wherever he was on the floor, causing turnovers and bad shots, leading to Wildcat opportunities.
The energy was prominent throughout the entire team as well. The bench kept the intensity high, with constant encouragement and support. After each play, they were there to recognize the efforts and plays made by their teammates. The team’s bond and relationship is truly apparent, with every success followed by celebration.
“Anything could’ve come at us, and we would’ve run right through it. That’s what being a team and Senior Night is about—having togetherness,” senior Ali Khan said.

Jaxon Williams has been especially dedicated and mentally focused this season. During his senior year, he gave it his all. One of the most improved seniors on the roster, Williams’ growth has been evident.

The student section was active at the game, bringing the energy the Wildcats needed to take down the Tigers. Senior Ava Pietanza even pushed through the pain of wisdom teeth removal to be there, showing her commitment to supporting the team.

Senior players Joseph Trigueros and Ali Khan have become a duo that clicked immensely throughout the second half of the season. Trash-talking each other is part of how they push one another to become better players.
“Joe is our leader, our most consistent guy,” Ramos said. “He does everything we ask of him.”
Coach Roy Ramos’ ability to keep his team hungry and focused was a key component to the Wildcat victory. His belief in his players allows them to play to their full potential.

With the season winding down, this Senior Night victory will be one to remember for the Wildcats and their dedicated seniors.
