Ja'Nyah is a junior this year, and excited to be writing and training for the Chronicle! She is very driven and dedicated to her schoolwork and extracurricular activities. Outside of Journalism, Ja'Nyah is an active member of Wego Drama and her hobbies include reading and listening to music. In the future, Nyah hopes to pursue a career in literary editing or journalism after college.

Eros is a senior and an aspiring hairstylist. With colorful hair of their own, they are a cosmetology student at TCD and plan to complete their degree at COD after graduation. Passionate and driven, Eros dedicates themselves to their interests and extracurriculars, including being an active member of WEGO Global. An artistic soul, Eros enjoys hobbies such as drawing, sewing, baking, and pottery. Joining journalism felt like a natural step, as they hope to explore whether storytelling can become a new form of art for them. Eros adores their cat, Chai, named after one of their favorite drinks, a chai latte. A good portion of their paycheck goes to spoiling Chai or indulging in clothes and sweet treats. Outside of school, Eros can often be found working, shopping, spending time with friends and family, and always listening to music.

Lilyana Bonilla is a senior at WEGO, where she is an active member of WeG0 Drama, serving on the leadership team, and a dedicated ROAR mentor. This semester, she is taking journalism for the first time. Although this is only her second year at WEGO, Lilyana has worked hard to find her place in the community. Originally from Texas, Lilyana spent her first two years of high school at Haltom High School before moving to West Chicago. She is incredibly grateful for the friends she has made here, who have helped her feel more at home in her new school. Lilyana is excited to graduate and plans to attend either a four-year or junior college after high school.

Senior Andrea Garcia is a hardworking student who loves to try new things and explore every opportunity that comes her way. You’ll often find her on her phone, managing her responsibilities as the communications manager for a well-known community organization. At school, Andrea is actively involved in various clubs, taking on leadership roles and contributing to culturally connected groups. Her dedication and drive have helped her thrive and build meaningful connections with others. Andrea joined journalism to enhance her blog-making skills and discover new ways to share stories.

Entering the last stretch of her senior year, Cris Correa prepares to kiss her high school life goodbye and embark in the newfound freedom of adulthood. As an extremely active worker balancing time between three jobs, finding this social butterfly sure is a challenge. As a full-time foodie, Cris can always be counted on to try new foods or restaurants (so far she has tried Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Italian, and Mexican cuisine. In the near future, she plans to try Indian, Thai and Indigenous cuisine), of course always surrounded by friends and acquaintances! In those rare instances where Cris has free time you can expect her to be engrossed in some new thriller, rom-com, or show Netflix decided to throw out.

In her final semester as a high school student, Alina Procopio has joined the Wildcat Chronicle. She has a deep passion for music and enjoys creating it, especially with her brother. Together, they are working on bilingual, lyrically driven tracks that reflect their shared creativity. Some might describe Alina as organized and kind, while others would say she’s crazy and helpful. At her core, she’s someone who’s open to trying new things, meeting new people, and making the most of her senior year as it flies by.

Jacqueline Rivas Vivaldo decided to join the Chronicle for her last semester in her final year of high school. Although she is not fond of the idea of talking to people in general, she is ALWAYS willing to try something new! She used to write stories of her own not too long ago, not to mention she adores overanalyzing anything! One of her favorite pastimes is watching in-depth explanations of crime cases, books, video games, etc. Once you get her hooked on any topic, trust that she will want to investigate it herself!

Wilbur Cooper is a senior at WEGO, currently in his first and final semester of journalism. Wil serves on the leadership team for WeGo Drama and is deeply involved in the music department, participating in choir and the Music Honor Society. Passionate about the arts, he has a particular love for horror. In his free time, you will find him mostly either out with friends, home watching a good movie, or playing a new video game.
