We all know what it is like to go to lame parties where no one is dancing, nor feeling lively. We have all been bored in our rooms with nothing to listen to. In that case, try bumping Mr. Worldwide, also known as Mr. 305, or more commonly as Pitbull. Born January 14, 1981, in Miami, Florida, Pitbull is a Cuban-American rapper and singer who began his career in the early 2000s when his parents’ separation led him to live in a foster home, and eventually to substance abuse. In 2004, he released his debut album, and began his rapping career. Here are the top 5 Pitbull songs to party to.

#5 “The Anthem”

“The Anthem” is very high-energy, and a good song to party to because it features a catchy beat and great lyrics in Spanish about flirting. People will relate to the desire to be wild, and to “report to the dance floor.” The song was produced by Pitbull’s mentor Lil Jon, who is known for being part of the East Side Boyz, a multi-platinum group in its own right. While not a huge hit, the song stayed on the charts for 36 weeks, peaking at #36.  Although “The Anthem” may not be as well known, it belongs in the top 5 because it is a Pitbull classic.

#4 “I Know You Want Me”

Pitbull’s first internationally successful single, ”I Know You Want Me”, topped charts in France, Israel, the Netherlands and Turkey before spending 6 weeks at #1 on the European Top 100 tally. The song peaked at #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2009. Mr. 305 had all the people up with this track, which became the highest charting song to date for Ultra Records“I Know You Want Me” is a remix of “75, Brazil Street”, a 2008 release by Nicola Fasano and Pat-Rich. Pitbull told MTV News that the idea for the track came from a Dominican guy, El Cata, and the other one is Omega. They’re both huge on the mambo side of things down in the Dominican Republic.”  This song is a way for people to feel like they are partying in Miami because it is a type of song you listen to on vacation.

 

#3 “Don’t Stop the Party”

Pitbull´s “Don’t Stop the Party” song samples one of TJR´s hit songs. “Don’t Stop the Party” was a beat that was big in Europe because of its inspirational message:

Pitbull explains in the track that how no matter how difficult things are, the party should still go on. He suggests people can escape their problems, and come out on top, no matter what. He sings, “I’m running through the world like a running back,” and “you’re thinking that you can out-think me but you can’t frankly.” Overall, the song has a catchy melody, perfect for a fiesta.

reminding them they are not alone, and to keep pushing. This song features a vocal contribution by Ne-Yo, and marks the second collaboration between the two artists. This song rose up in the charts, becoming one of Pitbull’s first U.S. top ten songs since 2014; in 2020, the single was quadruple platinum certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) with over four million streams. This is a great song when you are partying, but equally strong if you are feeling down or drowsy. “Time of our Lives” will uplift you.  The “Time of our Lives” music video also really gives a unique perspective on how teenage parties look like now: wild.

“Forget about your boyfriend” sings Mr. Worldwide, sounding like a real player in this final song, which suggests all he wants to do is party. Although the girls in the track are taken, he wants them to forget about their men and follow him for some after party fun. “Hotel Room

Service” was released on iTunes and mainstream radio in 2009, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, making this track his second top ten hit. The song samples “Push the Feeling On” by Night Crawlers. “Hotel Room Service” is the number 1 song because it is a really catchy and moving, but more importantly, it will have you singing the lyrics and on your feet, moving to the beat.
