After a winning streak the entire season, the boys varsity soccer team is moving to the state semifinals for the first time in school history after beating Jacobs  2-0 at the super sectionals on Tuesday.

“(I was) elated and proud. Super excited for these boys, the school and the community,” boys soccer head coach Jose Villa said.

Both scores were made from senior Jessie Hernandez.

“I was overjoyed especially for the players, coaches, and fans,” athletic director David Pater said.

The next game will be Friday at Hoffman Estates against Edwardsville High School.

A fan bus will be provided for students wanting to assist the game with a cost of $8. Students can sign up at the athletic office by noon Thursday. The bus leaves at 4 p.m. Friday.

Villa feels thankful for everyone that supported the team throughout the season.

“I am thankful for our coaching staff who does a tremendous job every day working with these boys. We would love to have you come out Friday and Saturday to support and cheer on these boys,” Villa said.
