The LRC is offering a free way to impress family this holiday season with homemade paper bookmarks.

The idea of providing a chance to make gifts came from LRC clerk Candace Barry.

“I thought of it as something to help save money and show the student’s creativity,” Barry said.

That is where LRC clerk Britta Renwick comes in, the self-proclaimed “creative one” of the librarian group. Renwick found patterns online and got to work, making a wide range of bookmarks from feather shaped ones to penguins that keep the page on the corner of a book.

Renwick is willing to teach students with some free time how to make their own bookmarks.

“Homemade gifts just mean a lot more than a store-bought gift,” Renwick said with a smile.

To make a bookmark of your own, stop by the library and ask an LRC clerk for help before break

“Even a little easy one like the bookmarks mean so much,” Renwick said.
