As a way to encourage students and staff to connect with their faith, Compass participated in the national event “See You at the Pole” Wednesday.

Compass held the event outside of entrance F under the flagpole.

At the event, participants and Compass members prayed at 7:15 a.m.

“We’ll be praying for our school, teachers, clubs, faculty, and students. We’ll also be praying for our world and (for) people hurting around the world,” a leader of Compass senior Megan Appleton said before the event.

“See You at the Pole” holds a significant importance to Compass and its members.

“We believe prayer is something very important and we think that our world and school needs a lot of prayer. We believe prayer is really powerful and can change things,” Appleton said. “That’s why we want to take part in it.”

Everyone was welcomed at the event.

“It’s open to everyone. We’ve seen teachers and different faculty members show up. It does not matter (if you’re Christian or not),” Appleton said.

According to Appleton, the event creates a bond between everyone who takes part in the event.

“It’s just been really cool to see people who you wouldn’t necessarily talk to, show up just all for the same purpose,” Appleton said. “It’s us joining together as a community. It’s a time where we can join together to pray for the needs of our school and our world.”

Compass encouraged students to attend the event.

24 people came to the event.

Hot chocolate and doughnuts were offered at the event.
