Although the boys volleyball team won 2-1 against Geneva March 28, they were not satisfied with their play.

“It was a little bit frustrating, I felt like we did not come out ready to play, especially in the second set. We won but it felt a little different because we did not communicate well enough,” head coach Kristi Hasty said.

The team won 25-22 in the first match. Followed by a loss 25-10. The third match the team won 26-24.

The team noticed that they were not playing their best in the last match.

“We called a timeout (in the last match) and Luke (Kulesza) served over and we started playing more aggressive. We played to win instead of playing to not lose,” senior captain Ross Behr said.

This was the first conference match the boys played in.

“Our number one goal for this season is to win the conference and the regional match at the end of the season,” Hasty said.

The team’s record is 4-4 and the next match the team will be away against West Aurora Tuesday.
