Students participate in the first e-learning day

By Hector Cervantes, Reporter

The first ever e-learning day was held on Dec. 19. The school is one of the few in Illinois to pilot this program. The main purpose of e-learning day is to have school at home when there is too much snow or it’s cold. Teachers give students assignments and students complete it on the Chromebook.

Question: How did you feel about the first e-learning day?

Senior Juan Ramirez

“I guess I did like the e-learning day since the school doesn’t get to make up the day. I didn’t complete all of my assignments in my classes because I felt like it was a lot of work.”

Sophomore Alyssa Szulczewski

“I liked it because we didn’t have to get up early. It was better than getting up and you can do your work in a different environment.”

Sophomore Alexis Shapiama

“I liked it because we didn’t have to get up early. It was better than having to make up the days.”

Junior Mario Rodriguez

“I thought it was good we didn’t have to go to school since it was cold but it was a lot of work to do. They gave us more work than on a regular school day.”

Freshman: Nayeli Espinal

“I liked it. I did a lot of homework and it helped me a lot.”
