Students wake up and are starving. The principal notices all the students are mad and have a disgusted look on their faces. The principal goes through every possible reason to find out why the students are so upset — but overlooks one thing: “Wednesday” cereal. The cereal itself seems to be the cause of the frustration – that is how bad this product is.
The new “Wednesday” season came out on Netflix over summer 2025 and became so popular that several companies created themed products — one being this cereal, manufactured by Kellogg’s. Canada was the first to get it, and it later expanded across the United States as a limited-edition product.

The cereal box does not have much color. The front is mostly black, gray, and brown, while the back bursts with yellows, purples, and reds – contrasting tones that still keep a dark theme. The box is easy to open and smells like processed chocolate, with a very distinct and pungent scent.
The taste, however, is where things go wrong. It tasted airy, like a very bad Cocoa Puff. The aftertaste resembled popcorn. It was like a Cocoa Puff that had sat out for months — a mix of Cookie Crisp and stale Cocoa Puffs. Some testers said it even tasted burnt. It had a hint of chocolate, but the cereal was bland, with only a small trace of flavor, and what little flavor existed was unpleasant. It was earthy, almost like eating dirt.
Even for $2.99, this cereal was a rip-off. There was nothing special about it – only the fact that it featured the popular show “Wednesday.” The cereal itself looked like Kix, just with black dye and a few marshmallows thrown in to attract younger audiences.
Kids who eat cereal or watch the show might be interested because they want to try something new or join the hype, but the Chronicle disagrees and believes this cereal is a waste of time and money. The flavor is so bland it would not give anyone energy in the morning – only frustration from wasting three dollars.
The limited-edition “Wednesday” cereal earns a two-star rating in the Chronicle books. Despite its spooky packaging and trendy branding, it is not worth the hype. Its texture may resemble popcorn, but the airy taste and crunch fail to deliver on flavor. The dark, moody design fits the Halloween aesthetic, but even that cannot save this disappointing breakfast.
