Hey, Michaela,
Michaela Miller 00:01
Hi, Lauren.
Lauren Dusing 00:01

Michaela Miller 00:07
Basically, we’re here to share our unfiltered thoughts on life’s most random moments and hopefully make you feel a little less crazy in the process.
Lauren Dusing 00:13
So grab a snack, get comfy and join us for a little bit of delightful delusion.
Michaela Miller 00:30
Okay, care to enlighten us, Lauren?
Lauren Dusing 00:32
Like the rabbit hole that is my brain? Sure. So recently, I was on Instagram reels, and I saw this Tiktok of, are you a hoa hoa hoa girl or a la la la girl? So I needed to do research, because I was like, I don’t know. Like, what does this mean? And the hoa hoa hoa girl, I mean, I feel like I need to play the song. It’s from Twilight, and it’s their like, background song to one of the things. Oh, nope. That’s not it. This is a song. So anyways, I hope the mic, I really hope the mic picked it up.
Michaela Miller 01:15
Oh, I’m sure it did.
Lauren Dusing 01:16
But that’s like, if you’ve watched ‘Twilight,’ that’s like, one of their songs, like, so, like moody and kinematic, and so it’s like they’re saying that if you’re that type of a girl, you’re like the Washington girl, like that. Twilight filters over your life, like everything, Forks, darker, like you’re not depressed, but like you like the rain, you like the little more dreary.
Michaela Miller 01:40
You’re not depressed, you’re just weird.
Lauren Dusing 01:41
Yes, they like, they dress for comfort, and specifically those, like, long sleeve tops that Bella always wore that were like, You waffly skin, yes, yes, like, You’re that vibe. You’re like very you’re like the nonchalant girl, but if you are a la la la girl, that’s from the ‘Gilmore Girls.’
Michaela Miller 02:00
Yes, I love ‘Gilmore Girls!’
Lauren Dusing 02:03
It’s like, yeah, that’s it. That’s it. And you’re so your color palette is more like, like fall, but like water fall, warmer, fall. Like, you definitely do care. And just, like, basically the opposite, yeah. And I was just thinking how I really wish I was like, a hoa hoa hoa girl, but I’m not. Like, I’m not, I’m definitely not, but I just like, want to be in ‘Twilight’ so bad that I was hoping.
Michaela Miller 02:31
Yeah.
Lauren Dusing 02:39
So anyways, back to the song. When I was looking for the song, I clicked on about 17 different options. One was titled ‘Hoa,’ one was ‘Twilight,’ and the other one was ‘Twilight.’ None of those are the song. It is actually ‘Eyes on Fire.’ So anyways, those are my like most, my most recent search is because when you look up ‘Twilight HOA song,’ you don’t actually get the result that you want from Apple Music.
Michaela Miller 03:08
Oh, what is the thing where it’s like, that meme where it’s like, like, internal happiness, societal expectations? It’s like internal expectation or internal internal happiness would be hoa hoa hoa girl, but societal expectation is la la la.
Lauren Dusing 03:27
Like, literally, because, like, I want to be both so bad.
Michaela Miller 03:31
Robert Pattinson…!
Lauren Dusing 03:34
And then I saw that someone that made, like, a filter you could put over your phone that gives everything that, like, blue tinge that, like, hot ‘Twilight’ has, right? And I was, like, low key, I would totally move to Washington and live in, like, the rain, because, like, I love that, like, rainy, dreary weather. Like, that’s like, my excuse to not leave my house.
Michaela Miller 03:55
Yeah. I’m not, I’m not a fan. Oh, do you ever feel ugly and stupid? No… Well, I just, you know, I just love being in – no, I am all the way, like, sunny day, cool wind kind of girl.
Lauren Dusing 04:13
So you’re like, a full, la la la girl.
Michaela Miller 04:14
I am such a full –
Lauren Dusing 04:16
Wants to be, wants to be, and is.
Michaela Miller 04:18
Yeah, I’m, like, outside, like, that is what I display, and that is how I feel. I’m okay not being I mean, I’d love to be in the same universe as Robert Pattinson, as Edward Cullen, however, yeah, I’m the bright colors, the –
Lauren Dusing 04:36
For sure.
Michaela Miller 04:36
The warm air, the wearing those cable knit sweaters, because I have like, eight of those.
Lauren Dusing 04:43
No, like, I knew that that would be your answer to this.
Michaela Miller 04:45
Yep, yep. Unfortunately, that’s who I am. I’m almost finished with ‘Gilmore Girls,” too.
Lauren Dusing 04:51
Oh my gosh, I couldn’t get into it. It’s, I couldn’t get into episode one.
Michaela Miller 04:55
You know that’s, I mean, I guess that’s fair. I will say it like it’s really good in like, two, three, and four and then, yeah, like, by the time you get to six, it’s just kind of like downhill, because I feel like they ruin one of the characters.
Lauren Dusing 05:05
But yeah, no. ‘Twilight’ ate that up.
Michaela Miller 05:08
Ate that.
Lauren Dusing 05:08
Eat that up for dinner.
Michaela Miller 05:09
And you know what? I would eat the leftovers of that breakfast, lunch and dinner of the next day, leave no crumbs. Leave not a crumb to be had.
Lauren Dusing 05:18
I’m like, really glad you’re Team Edward, because that might have altered the course of our friendship. If you said, Team Jacob, if –
Michaela Miller 05:23
‘You are deep Nessie.’
Lauren Dusing 05:26
Shut up.
Michaela Miller 05:27
No. Like, there’s just, like – ‘You imprinted on my daughter.’ Like –
Lauren Dusing 05:32
Oh, don’t, like, I think they’re really cute and fuzzy in their wolf form and like, they’re just, like, so cute. But then, like, it was the long hair for me. It just I and he’s just very like, feral canine.
Michaela Miller 05:48
I wonder why.
Lauren Dusing 05:51
And I’m like, Edward. He drives a Volvo and lives in a really nice house. More my speed.
Michaela Miller 05:57
Yeah, it’s basically like, your options are he’s hot and he’s cool, but his family is a freak, and his brother wants to kill you, eat you. Actually his brother wants to eat you. Versus wolf boy friend, period. Like, be like for an end of sentence. Yeah, I’d still go with Edward.
Lauren Dusing 06:21
I think I would too. I like, also, like, the vibes of their house that they live in,
Michaela Miller 06:26
It is so cool.
Lauren Dusing 06:27
It is so cool. Like, I would love to live there. That’s when, that’s what I’m saying. Like, I would want to live there. And like, I would totally do that. But I just, like, don’t think the hot pink accents of my life would fit into –
Michaela Miller 06:39
The hot pink would look brown with the green overlay of them.
Lauren Dusing 06:41
It literally would, like, I would, my light would be dimmed. Yeah, it would, yeah.
Michaela Miller 06:46
I think you’d be depressed in the twilight cinematic universe.
Lauren Dusing 06:50
And just like, also, like, can we talk about how nonchalant Bella was about the fact that, like, just like, her life was like, okay, so you get wolf boy or vampire boy. And like, now you’re a vampire girl,
Michaela Miller 07:03
Your baby, looks freaking horrible. Yeah, Esme is horrifying, trying to kill you.
Lauren Dusing 07:10
Is possibly a demon child, yeah. Oh, and also, apparently this, like, vampire King is out to kill you, by the way. And like, by the way, vampires and wolves are real, just a side note. Didn’t know by the end of this, like you’re real and
Michaela Miller 07:28
You may be ugly. Side note.
Lauren Dusing 07:37
Okay, so, like, have you read the books?
Michaela Miller 07:39
Okay, here’s the thing here is the thing West Chicago Community High School, our library, either someone is hogging them or we don’t have the first ones, other we have the last one. We have the very last book. That’s someone but we don’t have any, yeah, exactly. We don’t have any of the other ones. And I have, this is embarrassing. I’ve been checking like once every so often, um, in the library to see if they have it. Yeah, I literally will check. And I’ve been checking since the beginning of my junior year, and they never, I’ve never seen it, and they should just buy them for you, but it’s like, they’re huge, they’re expensive, and I’m probably gonna read it more. You’re talking to the wrong person about expensive books, like, I – Well, like, yeah, I’ll drop a pretty penny, but there’s like, a million album and I’m only like, the thing is, like, I’ll buy a book. I’m I’m a freak like that. I’ll buy a book when I know I like it same or, like, I know I’m going to like it, yeah. But if it’s like, if it’s one where I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t know, then I’ll just like, check it out.’ And then if I like, read it, and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, that was amazing.’ Then I’ll buy the book. Amazing. Then I’ll buy the book after I read it already, so that I just, like, have it. But I’m like, I don’t know about ‘Twilight’ yet, because I’ve heard actually really mixed reviews about the books, like some people tell me it’s not worth it to read it, and just like, stick with the movies.
Lauren Dusing 08:55
And I’m like, because the movies are really good. And so I’m like, this is, well, really good is, like, really good and, like, In a horrible sense, yeah. This is so bad. But like, I don’t want to read the books. None of the books like ruin the movies. And I know that’s not normally how it’s the other way around. I know, but I’m like, I also feel like I need to read the books. Like, what goes on in there that –
Michaela Miller 09:16
I heard there’s a lot of, like, the dramas, like the the the book is the moment, like, there’s stuff that, like, goes down there that, obviously they don’t include, like, the movies to the books this big in the movies two hours. But like, um, yeah, no, it’s on my we can, we can tag team book partner that one at some point, really, because, like –
Lauren Dusing 09:35
I need to know, I feel like I’m in the dark about it.
Michaela Miller 09:38
Yeah? Because, like, everyone I talked to, like, if I ever like, mentioned the ‘Twilight’ movie, they’re like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ And then in the second book, I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah, right.’ And then oh, and then she came out with, oh, what’s her name? The one who wrote them?
Lauren Dusing 09:53
I don’t know who wrote them. So terrible of me, but I don’t know.
Michaela Miller 09:55
I forgot her name. It’s a her, but, well, I’m assuming, well, I.
Lauren Dusing 09:59
No, it is a girl.
Michaela Miller 10:00
Oh, it is a girl. Yeah, yeah, it is now I’m like, ourselves out of that. Okay, yeah, she wrote a, like sequel one kind of, but it’s like, happening at the same time. And it’s basically like, what would happen if the gender roles were switched? So if Bella was the weird, nonchalant vampire, and if Edward was like, the school boy, and would the wolf boy be wolf boy, or would it be wolf girl?
Lauren Dusing 10:24
Now I’m actually –
Michaela Miller 10:25
Not sure. Probably wolf girl. I would assume wolf girl, because I love triangle stuff, um, but, like, I don’t know it’s so I’ve like, seen people like, on like Instagram and stuff like reading like parts of it, or, like, acting out parts of it and it’s like, bad, like, it’s bad. Not like, like, I would still read it, but I wouldn’t read it because it was a good book. I’d read it because I’d laugh my, you know what? Off about it? Your bum, yeah, my bum, that’s the one, yeah, um, but yeah. It’s like, I don’t know. And they like, do it. She like, does it. So that it’s like, inside their minds are different too. Like, he views the situation as a guy instead of how she viewed it as a girl. Gosh, so it’ll be like, I don’t know, like, it just like, the difference between, like, the very over analytical, like interpretation and then like the very, like, oh, it’s probably nothing like, it’s very, it’s very interesting how she changes it, like a parody.
Lauren Dusing 11:20
Yeah, I mean it, because it’s like, is nonchalant, but like, she’s still a girl, so she still, like, overthinks things and is like, what the heck? And then, like, I just keep thinking for that one scene where she wakes up and Edward is just, like, in her room. She oh my gosh, yeah. And she’s like, ‘Um, hello. Like, like, what are you doing?’ Yeah,
Michaela Miller 11:41
Like, what are we doing here?
Lauren Dusing 11:42
I just like, remember that one scene, and she’s so confused. And then she’s like, like, ‘Am I dreaming? Wake up. There’s just a boy in my room, like a freak in my room, freak in the room.’ Quite literally, at that point.
Michaela Miller 11:56
Does she still think that he’s like, a weird incest family, or is that after?
Lauren Dusing 11:59
I don’t know, because I think that’s after she saw him all sparkly. Oh, oh. So it’s like, more, okay, I think so. Because I think I hope that at that point she knew he wasn’t normal. Because, like, if I liked a guy, if I liked the guy, I thought he was completely normal. And I woke up, and this man was literally hovering over me while I’m sleeping, I think I would lose it.
Michaela Miller 12:22
I would pull a wagon out from under my mattress.
Lauren Dusing 12:25
Like, I don’t know if I would put myself in, like, in the insane asylum, because I would be like, ‘No, you’re dreaming because, like, this is not real.’
Michaela Miller 12:31
Yeah, I wouldn’t believe myself. No, I wouldn’t either I would need, like, I don’t even know, and even if he told me it happened, I’d still be like, No way.
Lauren Dusing 12:39
I’d be like, No. I’d be like, ‘Either I’m like, dreaming or something’s wrong, yeah? Or like, you are, like, lying to me.’
Michaela Miller 12:39
I would be in a facility.
Lauren Dusing 12:41
I would be scared out of my mind.
Michaela Miller 12:51
Yeah?
Lauren Dusing 12:52
No, that would be
Michaela Miller 12:53
Yeah, absolutely.
Lauren Dusing 12:55
