The National Honor Society is hosting Cookout For Cancer. A fundraiser for the American Cancer Society on April 19th, 2024. Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide, even with the most health conscious lifestyle choices people are still at risk. Everyday millions of children and adults fight for their lives. Hoping whatever treatment plan they’re on is strong enough to save them. Those who have caught it early before it had time to develop further will have a higher chance of surviving, while others will spend years, even decades uninformed of their condition until it’s too late.

The American Cancer Society funds cancer research. That research could develop stronger and more effective treatments to combat cancer, even in their more deadly stages, Technology that can help us identify the cancer earlier on, and hopefully even find cures.

At the event, there will be a minimum entrance fee/donation to get in, there will be food and drinks available for purchase, a plethora of activities and games, luminaria bags for any cancer victims and survivors, and a guest speaker that will be shining light on the reality of living and combating cancer. We hope this is a chance for everyone to come together, support anybody we may know going through this, and celebrate how precious life is.

All proceeds from this event will be going to the American Cancer Society.
