Top 5 bathrooms at WEGO

Restrooms are a necessity for everyone at school, and it can be important to know where to go when one does have to do their private business. Read and find out as we count down the five best bathrooms in WCCHS.

Bathrooms: they are something every person in the world needs to use, and with school being more than seven hours long, it can be quite hard to know throughout those long hours what restrooms are best. One may sometimes even hear that they have to wait more than seven hours in order to use the bathroom. With high school being pretty tough, especially for incoming freshmen, imagine desperately having to use the bathroom and not knowing which one offers the best qualities.

#5 Locker Room Bathrooms

People might be confused as to how this bathroom even landed a spot in the top 5, as it is quite famous for having some of the wildest stories ever told, even going back to WEGO’s times of old. Nonetheless, it has been heralded as the funniest bathrooms in the school – as per many student opinions. This bathroom has gone through a lifetime of wear, as it has had shoes, gym shirts, and other wild stuff displayed all throughout the urinals and stalls. Resulting from those aforementioned reasons, the locker room bathroom creates memories that would not happen in any other bathroom and at least deserves some recognition at the #5 spot.

#4 Hidden AVID Bathrooms

The top underrated bathroom in the school, even though it can get slightly dirty sometimes, is the “hidden” restroom in the science wing, which is very underground in terms of popularity.

If students do not happen to know, this bathroom – for boys – is located near the AVID hallway closest near the science area of the school on the second floor.

For girls, it is located in the AVID hallway closest closer to the history area, kind of around where Social Studies teacher Mitch McKenna’s room is located.

This bathroom sits only at the #4 spot because while favored by boys, girls disagree that it ranks in the top five. When asked, girls more often than not said the restroom usually smells “strange” and can be hit or miss when one goes, since it is populated most of the time.

This is also a very small bathroom, which could be inconvenient for some people. This is not to mention this bathroom is locked a lot of the time, and has one of the worst locked-to-open ratios in the school.

#3 Gender Neutral Bathrooms

This bathroom made it into the top 5 because it is considered the most “private” restroom in the school. If one were to compare the facility to one outside of school, it would be similar  to a typical bathroom in a middle class home, with a more realistic comparison being a bathroom in a doctor’s office or hospital.  It may not be the most accessible bathroom, since there is only one toilet and can therefore be occupied most of the time, but overall, the gender neutral bathroom is a very good one.

The best gender neutral restroom would probably be the one by the small gym and cafeteria, as that is usually the cleanest one. The one by entrance C is okay, but can be dirty and smelly at times.

#2 English Division Bathrooms

This bathroom is one of the most populated bathrooms in the school because of its size and perfect placement. It is very easily accessible – when it is not closed – and has a water fountain right by the doors, adding to the convenience and accessibility. The shape is also quite nice in terms of the spacing of the urinals, stalls, and the sinks. To add on to this, the mirrors are also a great addition and a great way for one to admire themselves. For some odd reason (perhaps the lighting), the mirror never fails to make one look good in its reflection.

#1 History Division Bathrooms

The restroom in the history department a fan favorite for both boys and girls. The bathroom is usually not too populated, and even if it is, the facility is usually a pretty relaxed pick since the door to the bathroom is often closed, giving the spot a secluded and safe feeling. The history bathroom is always clean. This bathroom is near perfect, with one exception being the fact that it fails to provide soap some of the time, as the soap dispenser can be either broken or in need of a refill.

On a good note though, it has been said that maintenance installed a new dispenser, which would be pretty helpful for history bathroom users, as it increases the quality of experience.

Overall, this bathroom is the favorite of the people and has been given the title of the best student bathroom of West Chicago Community High School. Find out what other students think here.
