Top 5 WEGO workouts

These are students’ favorite workouts in the weight room and fitness center.

The WEGO weight room is a popular place for working out after school.

Picture this: a student with a decent physique with his biceps still on display, calling for help as the bar was set to embarrass him in front of his gym crush again. Gym-goers rushed to his aid, trying to suppress giggles as they rescued individual from his bland workout. His workout lacked diversity in addition to a strong foundation for improvement, but that does not mean the Wildcats have to follow this student’s poor, ego-lift routines.

A quick trip down to the weight room will find West Chicago Community High School students engaged in these top 5 exercises.

#5 Modified push-ups

Love doing push-ups but do not feel as though it truly pushes the most out of a workout? As per any exercise, the difficulty of the push-ups can be raised by elevating the core by putting the legs on a higher elevation, which increases the amount of force used by the chest and abs. Those instant ab videos may be right after all.

#4 Pull-ups

Want to flex in front of a crush? Pull-ups are a great way to show one’s self-esteem or humble oneself in front of everyone during lunch. It is important to start small with some band support so that, in time, it will be normal to crank out 8-plus as a minor workout alone; pull-ups work the back, chest, and deltoids, and are a great way to show which people peaked in high school.

#3 Lateral pull downs

Want to look like Miguel O’Hara? Nobody ever will, but does it not sound like a fun physique to work towards? Lateral pull downs will work out the biceps, deltoids, traps, and many more; this workout is a great way to lie to a person and make them think they can reach an unattainable physique. There is no doubt lat pulls will make someone look amazing, but those little bros will never get the Terry McGinnis back: keep dreaming.

#2 Romanian dead lift

The Romanian dead lift is the ego lifter’s favorite exercise. In all seriousness, the move is a great way to work out the glutes and hamstrings, and with proper form the grip as well. With enough confidence, this exercise can look impressive in the weightroom. However, never be one of those people who puts five plates on each side, and lifts the barbell only an inch before slamming it as loud as humanly possible.

#1 Barbell bench press

The barbell bench press is an oldie, but truly a classic. The bench press works out the chest, back, and arms – perfect for any day involving a dynamic body workout. Bench press is also ideal for all the heartbroken gym rats who lost their partners to someone whose hair looks like an ice cream scoop; so hit the gym, push those limits, blast some rap on a speaker, and show more potential than that kid with cross earrings and a broccoli cut.

Good point by Leo. Don’t see any back or front squats on here. Although, I can appreciate the pull-ups and RDLs.
