Frosty Fest returns to West Chicago

The winter festival takes place Dec. 2 from 4-7 p.m.

West Chicago’s annual Frosty Fest, orchestrated by the City of West Chicago, is set to spread holiday cheer on Dec. 2 from 4-7 p.m. in the downtown area.

Frosty Fest is a celebration at which the community comes together to ring in the holiday season. The large tree in front of the Fox Community Center is lit as a show of Christmas spirit, and a North Pole is set-up for children to meet with Santa Claus.

“Each year the event kicks off with the Frosty Fest Procession followed by the City’s official Tree Lighting Ceremony followed by a number of fun activities for all ages to enjoy,” the City of West Chicago said via their website.

As attendees stroll down Fa La La La La Lane, other activities consist of downtown sleigh rides, an enchanted forest, the elves’ workshop, face painting, candy cane bead crafts, alpaca feeding, a snow globe photo-op and a Frosty Fest scavenger hunt.

The Wildcat Chronicle reached out to Nicolette Stefan, Special Events Coordinator for the City of West Chicago, for additional details, but she did not respond back. However, many local residents are looking forward to the festivities.

I attended Frosty Fest back in 2011, and found it so much fun. There were so many activities to do and it was something fun to bring little kids to! I do plan on attending this year,” Jackie Voss, English teacher, said.

The gym is her safe place, and it helps her get her anger out and achieve the dream body she wants. Jetzelli hopes to become a designer…a fashion designer! She encountered fashion a while back, started designing, and says she loves it. She wants to create her own clothes and have her own little store where people can buy her stuff. She has big dreams that will take her awhile to achieve, but all are very doable. She says she will try her hardest to get where she wants to be, and nothing will stop her.
