Wildcats beat Fenton on boys’ golf Senior Night

The Wildcat Golf team concluded their regular season with a competition against Fenton High School

West Chicago Community High School’s boys’ golf team competed their senior night against Fenton High School. The boys had some tough competition, but resulted in a win against Fenton.

Boys Varsity Golf team coach Rich Kost gets ready to lead his team past the Fenton Bison on senior night.

Senior Jack Walsh tees off at hole one to begin his career day on senior night. “It was our Senior Night and I shot my best round of the year, a 37. We also beat them as a team pretty easily. It was really fun playing with Carlos during the round, and after all the moms set up a little party to celebrate us seniors,” senior golf member Jack Walsh said.

The season began in August, a week before school commenced. The team held try outs and started practices swiftly after to prepare for their first invite. Regionals take place this week which also happens to be Homecoming week at WeGo.

“I’m hoping as a team we place, against some top competition. If not I am  hoping my individual score will make the cut to go to sectionals next week,” junior golf member Nicholas Temes said.

If the team makes it to sectionals, they will be playing in Plainfield at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club against other school teams in the 3A division in Illinois: Oswego East, Bartlett, Naperville Central.
