Photo essay: A day at Starbucks

A behind the scenes experience of a beloved coffee chain: Starbucks.

Everyday, millions of Americans enjoy a hand-crafted beverage from the famous coffee chain, Starbucks. Whether they are coming from somewhere or heading somewhere, individuals are always greeted and satisfied with a beverage when they go to Starbucks. With so many customers, all requesting a different drink, a functioning Starbucks store requires hard-working, dedicated employees.

The classic Starbucks cups stacked up and ready to be filled with fresh beverages. Starbucks has a unique name for their drink sizes with “tall” being a small, “grande” being a medium, “venti” being a large and “trenta” being an extra large. It is an amusing way for Starbucks to stand out as a coffee chain.

Whether guests choose to go in the store to get their beverage or go through the drive-thru, at Starbucks, guests are always greeted and attended to with care and kindness.

The person behind the counter may be some individual’s first human interaction of the day. Whether requesting a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon boost, the employee who grabs your order is truly on the front line.

Every Starbucks store grinds their own coffee beans daily. Starbucks uses arabica coffee beans for all their blends of coffee. The most used and sold blend at Starbucks is their Pikes Place coffee blend which has hints of chocolate and toasted nuts for a well balanced flavor of coffee.
