At the end of a successful senior year, West Chicago Community High School seniors participated in games during den time to win $25 visa gift cards.

The games were put together by science teacher Brianne Ferreiro, and Social Studies teacher Nicole Stadler. Normally, den time is considered a period for academic work and social-emotional learning, but an exception was made for the Senior Den Games.

“I was trying to find a way to have a fun and interesting way to end the senior year. An entire high school experience was interrupted by the pandemic, and you guys missed out on a lot, so I was trying to find a way to make it something special for you guys to end it with,” Ferreiro said.

The winning den was English teacher Mary Fremeau’s class. They went head-to-head with the other top teams at the end of the week, ultimately bringing back the trophy.
