FCCLA held a bake sale on March 17 to raise donations for the Special Olympics as part of a community service project.
The treats included Rice Krispies treats and cake pops dipped in either white or milk chocolate and topped with green and white clover-shaped sprinkles.

“Every year, the state conference for FCCLA has a community service project, and this year’s focus is the Special Olympics,” adviser Brittney Bauer said.

The grand total FCCLA made from the bake sale was $140, according to advisor Emily Renteria. The funds will be donated to the Special Olympics as part of the club’s community service project.

“I was craving something sweet, and I really do like cake pops and I get them a lot,” senior Gaby Cortez said.
Traditionally, FCCLA sells root beer floats on St. Patrick’s Day, but this year, the members of the club decided as a group to do a bake sale instead, which created a shift in their typical fundraiser. FCCLA also managed to sell all of their treats, thanks in part to the efforts of senior club president Ruth Dim.
