A new business is officially celebrating its arrival in West Chicago. Mango Express Car Wash, part of a growing chain in the Chicagoland area, held its ribbon cutting on Oct. 19th. The location has been open for several weeks and offers residents another option for keeping their cars clean.
Mango Express promotes itself as having the newest car wash technology and updated equipment. One of its main draws is a touchless wash package, which uses high-pressure water and soap to clean vehicles without brushes — a service not offered by many competitors nearby.
Director of Operations, Carlos Garcia, stands at the helm of the West Chicago location. He spoke about both the challenges and opportunities of managing a business at a young age.
“There is a lot of stress that comes with it, just with being young, I want to do things that people might enjoy doing, like go out, have fun, but with the job that just doesn’t come a lot, but it’s a big responsibility and in a way, it’s also an honor, because that means someone trusted you to run something that they put millions of dollars into. So I think I take that honor,” Garcia said.
Although there is competition, Garcia said Mango Express is working to stand out in ways that benefit both the company and the surrounding community. The West Chicago location is at 151 S. Neltnor Blvd., near businesses such as La Jimenez, Egg Yolk Cafe, and Walgreens.
“We want to go around offering local businesses in the area, business-to-business promotions that benefit our employees and even their employees, where their employees can get a cheaper car wash, and maybe our employees could get a discount as well,” Garcia said.
Garcia added that the business aims to compete not only with new technology but also by helping the community and maintaining strong customer service.
“The staff we have been training for a long time, they’ll be able to do well for the West Chicago community, educate them on what we offer here, and possibly even maybe even turn some of them into managers and help them grow into careers and management,” Garcia said.
Mango Express Car Wash is open daily, offering a range of wash packages to drivers in West Chicago.
