As the coldness of winter traps people inside and days start to merge into one, finding new hobbies is a great way to pass the time and to stay happy during the darkness.
#5 Baking
Depending on one’s skills in the kitchen, baking is a great way to pass time on a cold day stuck inside. Baking can take up to many hours spent in the kitchen, and can therefore pass time very quickly.

#4 Working Out
People often find their moods matching the weather, so on a gloomy winter day, working out can really boost one’s ego and help them feel strong and confident in their body. Although many common exercises, such as biking or running, are often performed outside, there are many types of workouts that can be performed inside. Weightlifting and yoga are prime examples of indoor workouts.
There are, however, also many benefits to continuing outdoor workouts during the winter. So, don’t be afraid to keep up with physical health during the cold season of winter.
#3 Learning to Play an Instrument
Learning a new instrument is another great way to pass time during long days stuck inside because it can help strengthen the brain, and it can help people relieve their stress. Learning a new instrument engages so many different parts of the brain and body because it requires multitasking, fine motor skills, and good listening skills. All of these combined helped to keep the brain young and intelligent.
Another good part about trying to learn a new instrument is that anyone can learn how to play. Even some of the greatest bands, such as the Beatles, had to teach themselves how to play instruments, and would often make up their own chords.

#2 Reading
Whether fiction or nonfiction, reading is an amazing way to spend time. Either type of book can greatly expand one’s vocabulary, and help them gain confidence in their language.
Jumping into a story is also a great way to distract one’s mind while waiting for the end of the day to arrive.
#1 Crafting
There are so many different types of crafts that can be used to enjoy time stuck inside such as crocheting, painting, jewelry making, drawing, and so much more. These craft times can be used to make cold houses feel more cozy and comfy during the harsh weather of winter days. Crafting is also really good for one’s mental health and can make them happier during gloomy days.

I believe that this list should be renamed to be indoor winter activities.
