About the Contributors
Sentia Irakoze, Reporter
Sentia Irakoze is a lively and driven senior at West Chicago Community High School. When she is not busy writing for the Chronicle, Sentia spends her time singing for the school's choir, and is involved in WeGo Drama. Sentia played one of the leads in WEGO’s production of “Mean Girls” and enjoys acting because it gives her different perspectives. She hopes to study marketing in the future while - maybe - maintaining her singing career.
Ela Marszalek, Reporter
Ela is an involved senior looking forward to her final year of high school: for her, West Chicago has been a great place to make friends and connections. She has been incredibly involved through extracurriculars such as Horticulture Club, where she has cultivated a green thumb. Ela also has a talent for embroidery, and on any given day, you might find her completing a cross stitch project or weaving an intricate friendship bracelet. Chances are likely that she will pursue a college major that involves art in the future.
Adrian Sanchez, Reporter
Although some might say Adrian Sanchez looks like a volleyball player at first glance, this WCCHS senior has been highly dedicated to soccer ever since he began playing the sport in elementary school. Adrian also enjoys listening to rap, especially artists like Kendrick Lamar and Drake in his free time. He is also a proud owner of a pet chihuahua named Pedro. He admires when people are honest, and when they value their family and considers himself as an honest and caring person.
Adrian joined journalism hoping to become more involved and social.
Emily Barrera, Reporter
Emily Barrera is looking forward to getting a business degree at COD, as well as opening her own hair salon since she is taking TCD for cosmetology. For senior year, she decided to switch up her English routine and take Journalism. Emily is great at balancing school, work, and staying healthy: she enjoys attending the gym, and misses Ballet Folklorico after being a part of it with her twin sister since the age of 5.
