About the Contributors
Ruby Guerrero, News Editor
Ruby Guerrero Lopez is a junior at West Chicago Community High School and no stranger to journalism. Over her high school years, she’s had absolutely no idea what she wants to do after school. Right now, it’s to be a family attorney, but who knows, it could change by tomorrow. A piece she’s most proud of is her “More than grades” in-depth article. In her free time, she likes to say that she studies and works, which is mostly true, although sometimes you’ll catch her watching movies or TV shows over working any day. If you get her talking about Marvel or Harry Potter, you’ll probably never hear the end of it.
Sam Suarez, Senior Reporter
Samantha Suarez is a senior at West Chicago Community High School and is taking Journalism for the first time this year. In her spare time, Sam likes to go on walks and read books – that is, when she is not busy with school or her job. Sam works as a server in a retirement home in nearby Naperville.
Over the summer, Sam went to Michoacán, Mexico, for a month, and so she is now ready for a fresh start to the school year.
Thomas Cabrera, Reporter
Thomas Cabrera is a senior starting his first year of journalism. He plays golf, is an active member of the volleyball team, and is also the manager of the girls’ volleyball team. Most people would describe Thomas as very outgoing and friendly. Thomas also has one dog, Charlie, whom he loves very much.
Thomas enjoys being out in nature, and dreams of becoming a forest ranger.

I appreciated the background provided about all the building’s purposes. It is incredibly motivating to see a young person participating in an business venture that is so personal and speaks to so many community members. Thanks for putting together a fun video… even the creepy phone at the end.
