A nice breeze flows as pumpkins ripen, and leaves change from green to orange, yellow, brown, and red. The smell of sweetness, earthy wood and Starbucks pumpkin spice fills the air while calming music plays in the room. A perfect set-up for snuggling up, reading a book or watching TV.
There are so many reasons why fall is the best season. It is officially “Sweatha Wheatha,” and it is time to go to Sonny Acres to pick apples and go on hayrides. Other great things about autumn? The cheesy Hallmark movies are playing on the TV, and Thanksgiving dinner is being served while watching football. Fall fashion, and Halloween (plus the Halloween movies!).
Places like Sonny Acres is a great place to hang out or have a date night. There are so many fun activities you can do: apple picking, the corn maze, baking, fall-themed crafts, and a petting zoo. These are fantastic ways to create so many memories. Plus, there are activities for all ages. Little kids can do pumpkin carvings, apple picking and arts and crafts, but teens and adults tend to go for the opportunity to add to their Instagram aesthetic. There are other places around us like Sonny Acres there is Stonebridge Acres, Grand Acres Farm, Abbey’s Farms and Johansen Farms Children’s Zoo & Pumpkin Farm. These are places where younger kids can enjoy themselves and older people can also have an excellent time.
Tessa Banasiak, a senior, lives right next to Sonny Acres and she goes every year.
“I love getting my pumpkins from there, they’ve got big, fat ones. I also love going on the haunted hayride. It’s fun to go with friends. It’s not super scary, but it’s quite enjoyable,” Banasiak said.
Of course, Halloween films make an appearance this season as well. So pick a day to have a movie night with friends or family and watch these amazing classic movies and many more.
Hallmark/Halloween movies are another part of fall to look forward to. Hallmark has a “calendar” on what movies they play throughout the season, a lot of classics and new movies are streamed through Hallmark. Although some fall romantic movies can be cringy, they are fun to watch or make fun of with your friends or partner. “I like to watch them with my stepmom, Julie. We like to cuddle with the dogs, put it on, make some popcorn and have a hot chocolate,” senior Lauren Dusing said.
Fashion is possibly the best part of the fall season. Fall is the time to be cozy and comfortable, but also cute. The trendy and best clothes to wear during fall are cute sweaters and jeans, a nice cardigan, or the famous flannel. Lots of earth-tone colors like dark red, brown, and orange will be appearing in closets very soon. The trendy clothes that are worn now consist of baggy pants, or leggings with a big weather or hoodie. Trends and or aesthetics change consistently, especially with clothes, which makes it so much fun to see what everyone is wearing. Above all, though, put the style that suits your overall aesthetic.
The final best part of the fall season?
Thanksgiving! When else can you eat a turkey it is also a great time to spend with family. “Friendsgiving” is another reason to ring in the autumn: it is so much fun to be with friends and share food. During Thanksgiving, there are usually a lot of football games, which are also entertaining. Plus, students receive a break from school – although not a long break, the time off is nice. The whole idea of Thanksgiving is with people one cares about, people one is thankful for, and that makes fall such a heartwarming season.
These reasons are why fall is the top-tier season.
