Chocolate chip cookies. Eclairs. Strawberry tarts. Mini cheesecakes. All are renowned desserts, but only five pastries can top this list.

If you have been craving a sweet treat that will transport you to pastry paradise, the wait is over. Between melt-in-your-mouth brownies, or a flaky, buttery croissant, there are a lot of options to choose from when looking for a dessert – or even breakfast – that will satisfy the desire for something delicious and filling.

So before heading to Starbucks for a cake pop or pumpkin loaf, consider one of these options instead. All of the items listed below can be purchased from a local bakery, or made at home.

Imagine a croissant that has been baked to perfection, with a delightful surprise inside: when bitten, the melted chocolate spills out, making every mouthful a delicious indulgent experience. It is like a little taste of heaven!

#4 – Frosted Sugar Cookies

While all cookies are delectable, frosted sugar cookies are soft and sweet with bright frosting and cute sprinkles. This cookie is the best for any occasion, least of all Christmas, and is a sweet treat to-go. Plus, there is something about a sugar cookie that is just nostalgic and fun: this dessert brings out joy in a smile, and that is what places this dessert at number four on the list.

#3 Macarons

Like sugar cookies, macarons are joyful treats, but these desserts are smooth with crisp shells and soft, chewy centers. These little treats come in a rainbow of colors, each offering a unique flavor experience. From classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate to more adventurous combinations like lavender and pistachio, there is a macaron for every palate. These dainty little cookies are not only visually appealing, but also offer a burst of deliciousness with every bite that will leave customers craving more.

Tasty

#2 Cinnamon Rolls

Now, some may disagree with the top two pastries on this list, but think about this: cinnamon rolls are like a warm hug for the taste buds. They are made with soft, pillowy dough that is swirled, just like an embrace, with a delicious blend of cinnamon and sugar. Fresh out of the oven, these sweets are golden brown and irresistibly gooey, filling the room with a mouthwatering aroma. Each bite is a heavenly combination of sweetness and cinnamon perfection. It is a treat that can be eaten for breakfast or as an afternoon snack.

Cupcakes are not only bite-sized, but also come in a variety of flavors and frosting choices. (Royalty-free photo by Acharaporn Kamornboonyarush via Pexels)

#1 Cupcakes

Surprised? Cupcakes are the ultimate pastry that reigns supreme. With their perfectly portioned size, they are an exquisite treat that satisfies the sweet tooth. The moist and fluffy cake, topped with a creamy frosting, creates a harmonious balance of flavors and textures. Each bite is a burst of indulgence, making cupcakes an unmatched delight.

Not only that, but the fun and colorful decorations on top make cupcakes a feast for the eyes as well. They are the perfect treat for celebrations, or just to brighten up someone’s day with a bit of flavor, and that is what makes this dessert #1 on the list.

I could not disagree more. Cinnamon rolls are far-and-away the best pastry on this list. Still, this is much better than Weigle’s quarterback list.

Also, this made me wonder what the top 5 pop tarts would be? (speaking of pastries).
