Clubs will gather at Geneva Commons to host their annual Barnes and Noble fundraising event Wednesday.

Clubs participating will be WeGo Drama, Creative Writing Club, and Chamber Choir.

WeGo Drama organized the event.

“It’s this awesome evening where we bring a whole bunch of groups together and do special performances,” drama director Mark Begovich said. “Drama will be doing a one-act play, arts, and crafts for kids and adults, and some story time. Choir will come to sing and Creative Writing Club will hold their event.”

Barnes & Noble will also have a book fair and the funds collected will be given back to WeGo Drama.

“Everybody could get their second-semester books or independent books,” Begovich said.

WeGo Drama will perform the one-act play “So You Want to be a Cheerleader?”

“It’s student directed. It’s a silly thing about finding the next cheerleader for the cheerleading team,” Begovich said.

Creative Writing Club will present an Open Mic.

“People can just gather around and we would be at the stores,” Creative Writing adviser Tara DeLeon said. “We’ll be performing whatever they (students) want and have a good message because it’s around Christmas time.”

Chamber Choir will be performing holiday-themed songs.

“We have over 20 songs that we have prepared for the holiday season and we’ll kind of pick a set from that list,” Chamber Choir teacher Brandon Fantozzi said. “It would usually be about 45 minutes worth of holiday music to help set the mood and help support the fundraiser.”

It is not the first time that Chamber Choir has participated at the Barnes & Noble event.

“I think it’s been six or seven years that we have sung at this event,” Fantozzi said. “It’s kind of one of our traditional events that we do.”

The Barnes & Noble event will begin at 4 p.m. with arts and crafts and with children’s story time at 5 p.m. Chamber Choir’s performance is at 6 p.m. Creative Writing’s Open Mic is at 6:30 p.m and WeGo Drama’s one-act play is at 7 p.m.
