Annual turkey suit fundraiser is on

The teacher with the most change donations will wear the turkey suit Tuesday.

Students have already surpassed Student Council’s fundraising goal as they try to get teachers to wear a turkey suit.

 

The club has collected $444.25 of the $400 they had hoped to raise.

 

Funds collected will support the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF).

Donations will be collected through Monday.

“They (UMDF) are the organization that works to try and find the cure for the eyesight disease that one of our students, Josh Bangert, is suffering from,” Student Council adviser Candace Fikis said.

The male and female teacher with the most donations will wear the turkey suit Tuesday.

The female winner was humanities teacher Alison Jonesi with $93

 

The male teachers are deans’ assistant Adrian Porcayo with $161.34 and English teacher Kyle Etheridge with $151.30. The female teachers are humanities teacher Alison Jonesi with $92.60. and English teacher Shannon Sanchez with $39.01.

Etheridge is a three-year winner.
“Dear God, why?” he said.

 

“We put three seniors in charge of three different teams then we drafted the teachers,” Fikis said.

The winner will be announced Monday at the end of 10th period.   

Update: The club raised a total of $618.
