Foods 2 classes showed their creative and competitive side in the annual cupcake war Friday.

Out of the four entries, the Kid’s TV shows-themed cupcakes won first place.

Four classes of Foods 2 competed.

“It is a competition where foods classes are required to pick a theme as a class and bring that theme to life,” foods teacher Angela Gentile said. “This is part of our decorating unit, so this is taking it a step farther and allowing students to be creative and being able to use their skills to create cupcakes from scratch.”

The other three entries were apps, logos, and Olympics.

Cupcakes were judged on their creativeness.

“(Teachers) vote based on frosting, coloring usage, presentation, cupcake design, and theme,” Gentile said.

The prize has not yet been determined, but Gentile said, “(It will be) something for the entire class to enjoy.”
