Instead of teachers instructing students in a classroom, they volunteered their time to work at McDonald’s as Club Green hosted its annual McTeacher Night Tuesday.

“I think (the teachers) had a good time. They were paired up with one of the workers who have been trained and worked with them,” Club Green adviser Suzanne Burchacki said.

This year, Club Green raised more money than past years.

“McTeacher Night just so happened to fall on Pi Day so we got to sell the McDonald pies for 100% profit which was nice and we had teachers dressed up in a pie costume and I think that was an interesting twist on it,” Club Green adviser Brianna Ferrero said.

Club Green sold 130 pies.

“It was kind of fun to dress up as a big McDonald’s pie,” Burchacki said.

The teachers manned the cash register, worked in the drive-thru, served ice creams, and made coffee.

“(The turnout) was pretty good (last year) there would be a big rush and it would kind of die down while this year was more steady. People were coming throughout the night,”  Ferrero said.

The funds will help pay for a recyclable material bench.
