Home dual meet ends with tie
December 13, 2016
After competing in the Hinsdale South tournament, the wrestling team took on Bartlett where both teams tied with a score of 36 Friday.
“We have a couple of guys that we were hoping could have done better and we could have come up on top. It was a good competitive meet and it was good to see our kids wrestle really hard. It was a really exciting dual,” head coach Bill Dragonetti said.
In the past few years, the team has come up short a few points when facing Bartlett. The team will face Bartlett in conference.
“I think I did a good job wrestling against Bartlett. This match was very interesting since it ended in a tie. As a team, we could have done better but we have all season to improve,” senior Jonathan Juarez said.
In order to improve, the wrestling team practices by doing a variety of drills.
“We have morning practices on top of after school practices. We do feet drills and do bottom work for practice to keep the wrestlers well coordinated and balanced,” Dragonetti said. “They are working really hard and we should be in better shape than ever when we wrestle.”
The next match will be home against East Aurora on Thursday.
