Chicago celebrates the victory of the Cubs World Series champions
November 3, 2016
History was made on Wednesday as the Chicago Cubs have not won the World Series since 1908. The Cubs went up against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field in game 7 of the World Series. Even an extra-inning and a rain delay did not make the Cubs lose and managed to knock off the Indians in 10 innings, 8-7. We have asked the students at the school on their initial thoughts of how it feels for the Cubs to win.
Question: Why was the Cubs victory on Wednesday important to you?
Junior Rachel Jonas
“It was honestly really thrilling and at the moment. There were sometimes when watching the game where I was on the edge of my seat. As long as it is over and they won I am happy.”
Freshman Austin Schwatel
“It is something we have been looking forward to for 108 years. There was nobody alive that remembered the last time they won.”
Sophomore Amy Aeinecca
“It is part of history. It was really fun to watch the game. I was really happy and my friends were really happy.”
Freshman Max Russo
“Everyone in my family has been waiting our whole entire lives for this exact moment to happen here and to have everyone in Chicago celebrate is one of the greatest feelings in the world.”
