Three seniors named 2025 Athletes of the Year

West Chicago Community High School has named seniors Jasmyn Trigueros, Robert Lee and Judah McLean as its 2025 Athletes of the Year, honoring their record-breaking careers, leadership across multiple sports, and impact on the Wildcat athletic community.
All three athletes participated in multiple sports throughout their time at WEGO and leave behind legacies marked by school records, All-State recognition, and peer admiration.

Senior Jasmyn Trigueros was named 2025 Female Athlete of the Year after a career that redefined what it means to be a multi-sport athlete at West Chicago. A varsity player in three sports – basketball, softball, and volleyball – Trigueros consistently led in both performance and presence.
In softball, Trigueros has been a four-year Varsity starter and one of the most complete players in program history.
She has a career batting average of .413 and an on-base percentage of .480, striking out only 20 times in 343 at-bats. As a pitcher, she’s racked up more than 450 strikeouts across four seasons, with a career ERA of 2.17. She also played nearly every defensive position when not pitching, often doing so better than players who specialized in those roles.
“She takes every rep seriously—whether it’s hitting, fielding, or throwing,” softball coach Mary Kate Dieter said. “That’s what separates the good from the greats, and what makes Jasmyn simply stellar.”
On the basketball court, Trigueros was a four-time team MVP and a four-time All-Conference honoree. She finishes her basketball career as the school’s all-time leader in points (2,152), three-pointers (277), steals (384), and assists (276). In 2025, she was named Upstate Eight East Division Player of the Year, and earned Honorable Mention All-State recognition from both the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and the Illinois Associated Press.
In volleyball, Trigueros was a two-year varsity starter and team captain. She led the team in assists (337) and aces (40) during her senior season, and was second in digs with 196. She was named All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2023 and First Team All-Conference in 2024, in addition to earning Academic All-Conference in both years. A crucial member of the 2023 conference championship team, she played a vital role in the team’s offensive structure and set the standard for performance and poise on the court.
Trigueros was known for her composure, humility, and relentless drive – attributes that left a lasting impression on coaches and teammates alike.
“Jaz consistently is one of the hardest workers on the court or field,” Athletic Director Nick Parry, who named her Female Athlete of the Year during the spring athletic awards ceremony, said. “She has led her teams with maturity, kindness, intensity, and just the right amount of swagger.”
Those qualities resonated with her peers as well.
“Her deep understanding of each game and encouragement drives the rest of us to be better. No one deserves that award more than her,” junior and softball teammate Lesley Garcia said.
Trigueros’ legacy goes beyond her stats. As a teammate, she led by example – never chasing individual numbers, always focused on team success.
“What women’s sports has gained the most from Jasmyn is witnessing her role model tenacity in the face of adversity, level-headedness in high-pressure situations, and staying humble while doing something she clearly loves,” Dieter said. “She’s a once-in-a-lifetime athlete.”
Trigueros will continue her athletic and academic career playing softball at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay.

Senior Robert Lee was named 2025 Male Athlete of the Year alongside Judah McLean after four years in football and basketball, and two in track and field.
On the football field, Lee rushed for 1,502 yards during his senior season, setting a new school record, and helped the team post back-to-back playoff seasons for the first time in school history. His performance against Joliet Central contributed to a school-record 622 rushing yards, the 14th-highest team total in IHSA history.
Lee earned All-State honors from the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association and was also recognized by Shaw Local, Chicago Sun-Times, and Red Grange All-DuPage County.
In basketball, he was a three-year varsity athlete and multiple-year Academic All-Conference honoree, known for his defensive grit and leadership.
On the track, Lee was the lead leg of the school-record 4×200-meter relay and finished second in the long jump at the conference meet, placing him No. 2 all-time in school history. He also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash, ranking 19th all-time at WEGO.
His impact has been felt far beyond the stats.
“Robert has had a tremendous positive impact on the football, track, and overall athletic community,” said Coach Dan Greco. “His achievements are a testament to his dedication and work ethic.”
That same work ethic stood out to coaches across programs.
“He’s an inspiration for current and future Wildcats. He’s set the standard for what it means to commit fully – athletically and academically,” basketball coach Roy Ramos said.
Teammates have taken notice as well.
“Robbie is the hardest worker I know. He truly wants to be great – he’s a phenomenal leader and an even better person,” junior and fellow football player Carter Naranjo said.
Lee will continue his football career at St. Ambrose University.

Judah McLean was also named 2025 Male Athlete of the Year after four years of Varsity track and cross country, serving as a three-time team captain for both programs. Known for his steady leadership and quiet intensity, McLean has become one of the most consistent and respected runners in recent school history.
In cross country, McLean was a top finisher in his IHSA regional during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, qualifying for sectionals each year and advancing to the IHSA State meet in both 2023 and 2024. His 15:28 time in the three-mile race ranks as the fourth-fastest in school history, capping off a senior season that showcased his endurance and focus on the state’s biggest stage.
His success extended into the spring. In track, McLean has earned All-Conference honors all four years, and his senior season saw him climb even higher in the school record books. He currently holds the No. 7 all-time 3200-meter time and the No. 9 all-time 1600-meter time at WEGO – marks that reflect not only natural talent but years of relentless effort.
“Judah has been an outstanding leader and role model,” head track coach Dan Greco said. “His work ethic and competitive nature are qualities all West Chicago athletes can look up to.”
McLean expressed gratitude for the support he has received along the way.
“I could not have done it without my coaches and teammates,” he said. “Just work hard and you’ll do great.”
That sense of humility has left a strong impression on those around him. Friend Asher McNiel described McLean as “a very dedicated person” who “relentlessly pursues what he wants, both metaphorically and physically.”
Those sentiments were echoed by McLean’s teammates.
“He’s one of the hardest workers I’ve known. He deserves everything he’s gotten,” fellow runner and senior Shaike Paz said.
Even those newer to the program felt his influence. Emilio Guzman, a younger teammate, called him “one of the toughest people I’ve met in high school” and added, “Have you ever seen him run? It’s honestly majestic. Like watching an ostrich cross the Australian desert.”
McLean will continue his academic and athletic career running at the University of Louisville.
