West Chicago stumbles at home against South Elgin

West Chicago’s undefeated home streak came to an end Friday night as South Elgin handed the Wildcats a 38-21 loss, marking the ninth consecutive defeat in their ongoing rivalry.

West Chicago entered Friday’s game with an unbeaten home record, but South Elgin’s Storm ended that streak with a 38-21 victory. The loss continues a difficult trend for the Wildcats, who have now lost nine consecutive matchups against the Storm.

Despite the defeat, West Chicago had standout performances from running backs Carter Naranjo and Robert Lee. Naranjo rushed for an impressive 211 yards, averaging 8.4 yards per carry, while Lee added 108 yards to the Wildcats’ total offensive effort.

The loss brings West Chicago’s overall record to 3-2. Meanwhile, South Elgin improved to 2-3 with the win.

Looking ahead, both teams will hit the road for their upcoming games. West Chicago is set to face Elmwood Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, a team currently on a four-game losing streak. South Elgin will take on Streamwood at 7:00 p.m. the same evening.
