Next generation of voters choose their candidate

Illinois will hold the primary elections on Tuesday for the 2016 presidential election. Besides Illinois, other states are voting: Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Missouri, and the Northern Mariana Islands. The election represents many states that hold a large amount of electoral votes. The elections will determine who will continue in the running for president. If Marco Rubio loses his home state of Florida, he is dropping out of the election. Tuesday is a big day so we have asked a few students who they would vote for in the primary elections.
Alberto Mancera
“I choose Hillary Clinton because too many people go for Bernie Sanders,” senior Alberto Mancera said.
Emma Albrecht
“Bernie Sanders because Trump is too racist and he can lead us to another world war. I would not vote for Hillary Clinton because she has lied about many things,” freshman Emma Albrecht said.
Mandy Gove
“I would vote for Cruz because he is conservative and I admire his values,” sophomore Mandy Gove said.
Grant Memler
“Ted Cruz because he is not like any of the other people,” freshman Grant Memler said.
Garrett Hosticka
“I’d say Donald Trump because he seems like he is going to try and change a lot on what is going on in the government,” junior Garrett Hosticka said.
Brian Gonzalez
“I would vote for Bernie Sanders because he has some really good ideas, like giving free education,” freshman Brian Gonzalez said.
Grayson Zweibruck
“Probably someone on the democratic side, either Hillary or Bernie Sanders because they seem like they want to make college more affordable. People are not happy that they get taxed more but if you look at the republican side it’s almost a joke,” junior Grayson Zweibruck said.
Camryn Liberio
“I want Bernie Sanders because I like his ideas a lot especially his opinions on public education,” freshman Camryn Liberio said.
Rebecca Flores
“Bernie Sanders because the social media has influenced me. The videos I do watch from him are better than Trump’s and Clinton’s,” sophomore Rebecca Flores said.
Johnny Nguyen
“Anyone besides Donald Trump because his ideas are irrational and he is a businessman who does not belong in the government,” sophomore Johnny Nguyen said.
