LRC is hosting a summer reading book pre-sale from Monday to Wednesday where students can get a free bag of popcorn and a chance to win a summer gift basket.

“The last couple of years we decided to offer a pre-sale order form where students can purchase their books in advance and save 10 percent off the retail price,” librarian Donna Leahy said.

Students that pre-order books will get their books delivered at the book fair in commons during all lunch periods on May 3 and 4.

“I thought that the book fair would be a great way to encourage summer reading by helping students purchase their books before leaving for the summer,” Leahy said.

Students can ask their English teacher for a pre-sale order form or go to the library to pick one up.

Order forms and money will be due on Wednesday.

The library works with Barnes and Nobles to do an in-school book fair.

“It’s about supporting literacy and academics while encouraging dialog about books,” Leahy said.

Information on what books will need to read during the summer will be on the library web page.

“(I hope to get out of this event) a chance to let students know how important it is to read during the summer months,” Leahy said.
