Creativity will be on display Thursday and Saturday as dance production takes the stage in their annual show.

The theme for this year’s show is “A Chance To Dance…Tribal Edition” which will feature 24 dances.

“I am really excited for the theme and the finale because it is very different than the past. Usually the show will be songs about artists. But the show this year is a tribal theme. It is fun to have all the girls together and share our talents with the audience,” senior Elizabeth Panicali said.

To prepare for the show, the girls have practiced a lot.

“The girls get ready and practice during their P.E. class and then come October we would come to rehearse every Tuesday and Thursday and now we are practicing in the auditorium with lights and cameras,” adviser Julie Wyller said.

Dance production gives the students the independence to run the show.

“(The show) is an outlet for the dancers to express their creativity and talent. They get to create dances, work with other dancers while creating something that speaks to them,” Wyller said.

In the show, there are lyrical, pointe, contemporary, hip hop, jazz and tap dances.

What is most exciting for Wyller is seeing the show progress.

“It is the cumulation of putting everything together (that is most exciting) from practicing in October and seeing the success and progress come together with lighting and costumes and how the girls work hard throughout the year,” Wyller said.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. The show starts at 7 p.m.
