Over 845 cans were donated for the SkillsUSA/FCCLA annual Food Drive.

Northern Illinois Food Bank, the organization working with SkillsUSA/FCCLA, required a total of 15 boxes worth of cans to be donated.

SkillsUSA/FCCLA raised 18 boxes, exceeding the required amount.

Part of the outcome was due to the prizes offered to the students.

“I know that students have detentions or PE make-ups to do so that’s one way to motivate them. But, I’m hoping they really do it for helping families in the community that don’t enough food to feed their family,” adviser Brittney Bauer said.

The cans will be donated to the food bank in Geneva.
