Race For Awareness, Wego Global’s annual fundraiser with the cross-country team, raised $580 to end world hunger.

The fundraiser took place on Oct. 7.

Baked goods were sold for $1 and t-shirts for $15 at the cross-country meet. The t-shirt’s logo says “Running For Their Lives.”

“The fundraiser (Race For Awareness) went fantastic. There was a rush of people that came and grabbed shirts at the very start,” WeGo Global adviser Maggie Haas said.

The funds will go to Feed My Starving Children, one of the club’s partners.

“Race For Awareness came from Michelle Franch who graduated a few years ago. She did a fundraiser and it was for hunger at that time as well,” Haas said.

Last year WeGo Global held a fundraiser for clean water.

“We took off where she (Michelle) left off and then she graduated. This year the focus is on hunger and we continued to work with Feed My Starving Children,” Haas said.

WeGo Global also raised $167 from their homecoming festivities. The club will host other fundraisers before Thanksgiving before donating all of the funds to Feed My Starving Children.

T-shirts are still available for $15 in room 183.
